Job Summary:

Manage the network quality across all technologies, this includes network performance monitoring, statistical reporting, data collection for network improvement, creation and customization of network, participate in network performance improvement projects, benchmark report analysis as well as provide inputs into RAN planning activities. Lead the planning and delivery of the wireless across all technologies and be a direct custodian of the regulatory KPIs. Support the managed services vendor to enhance the network quality across all technologies. This also involves working out cost-effective solutions that aim at closing the gaps between commercials inputs and network demands within the limited CAPEX environment.

Job Role

  • Manage managed services vendors interfacing the RAN planning teams in their day to day delivery
  • Develop the nominal radio coverage and capacity plan following business objectives as defined by the marketing
  • Perform Traffic Analysis from statistics or occurrences of special events and calculate several additional channels required for voice and data demands.
  • The custodian of all the regulatory RAN performance KPI’s & Regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and initiate cell data (parameters) for new sites, upgrades, or site migrations.
  • Analyze urgent needs for temporary network experience improvement while awaiting the permanent fixes.
  • Develop RNC/BSC Dimensioning Plans and Implementation Data, Installation and Testing of Repeaters and Tower Mounted Boosters and Amplifiers for coverage extension and quality enhancement.
  • Lead in identifying 2G/3G/4G corporate needs for data & voice planning and subsequent optimization required.


  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or its equivalent.
  • Professional certification is a must.
  • A postgraduate qualification is an added advantage


  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar role in a telecoms environment with at least 3 years in a supervisory position.
  • Good understanding of radio propagation principles
  • At least 2 years experience in on a 4G network (Planning/Optimization)



  • Working knowledge of transmission planning and engineering economics.
  • Good understanding of radio propagation principles
  • Relevant technical skills for radio planning.
  • Working knowledge of Radio planning and Optimisation and engineering economics.
  • Ability to perform engineering studies in the areas of RAN Optimisation.
  • Good knowledge of radio network Optimization on LTE, UMTS, and GSM Accessibility/retainability/integrity/Mobility KPIs
  • Good interference analysis/calculations and elimination skills.
  • Frequency planning and bandwidth/spectrum management skills
  • Good understanding of 5G planning & dimensioning principles
