CERATH Development Organization (CDO), The Tree Crops Center (TOG), and the La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA) are implementing The Coconut Waste Project funded by the European Union (EU). The project seeks to achieve a green-circular economy and create livelihood opportunities through value addition to coconut husks waste in the La Nkwantanang Municipality.

A key component of project is to develop business cases/enterprises for value added products from coconut waste. To enhance the business component of this project, the consortium is seeking to hire an Enterprise Development Officer (on full time basis) to join a young dynamic team to spearhead the project's vision.

Main purpose of job:

The Enterprise Development Officer will be responsible for designing, developing and launching the business case/enterprises within the project. In addition, the candidate will lead the commercialisation of the coconut waste value added products. Based in the CDO Accra Office, the job holder will report to the project manager.

The duties of the Enterprise Development Officer will include:

  • Develop a comprehensive business plan for the business case/enterprises within the project.
  • Design, develop and launch the business case/enterprises within the project. Explore, validate and quantify market opportunities for the processed coconut waste products.
  • Develop proposals/business plan applications in response to financing opportunities.
  • Facilitate and secure strategic partnerships essential for the project and also the business cases.
  • Commercialisation of coconut waste value-added products.
  • Support with the implementation of all activities relevant to the project,

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a degree in Business Administration Management /Business Finance /Business Development or related fields.
  • The applicant must have good knowledge and understanding on financial modelling tools (including excel) to develop budgets, and projections.
  • The applicant must have good presentation and writing skills.
  • The applicant must have experience in supporting start-ups or providing services for the successful launch and growth of businesses.
  • The applicant must be innovative, good at taking initiative, and must be able to work with less supervision.
  • The applicant must be a good team player, and willing to learn and gain information and experience in areas outside his/her traditional expertise or scope of experience.
  • The applicant must have at least 5 years work experience (excluding national service) in similar positions.
