We, OMNIA are looking for an expert on Ghana’s energy sector to fill a position on our team for an ongoing project.

The individual is expected to:

  • Have a master’s degree in a relevant humanities or science subject(s), including, but not exhaustively, economics, politics, law, or engineering.
  •  Have experience in executing projects in Ghana’s energy sector
  • Have at least five years of energy sector experience in Ghana
  • Be business fluent in English
  • The renumeration will be competitive and negotiable
  • Contract would take the form of a freelancer contract with the duration and working hours to be determined
  • Become part of a young, dynamic team and help shape the energy sector in Ghana

We focus on supporting our partners in designing, implementing, and navigating the legislative and regulatory landscape for sustainable, competitive, transparent, and efficient energy markets.

Tasks:

  • Be part of and support OMNIA’s project team in the execution of a project in Ghana’s energy sector
  • Undertake primary research on the energy sector in Ghana
  • Draft reports and presentations
  • Advice relevant partners, stakeholders and policymakers with regard to energy sector in Ghana
  • Self-starter in researching the state of the energy sector in Ghana
  • Work closely and coordinate with the international donor community in Ghana

 

Qualifications:

  • Hold a master’s degree in a relevant humanities or science subject(s), including, but not exhaustively, economics, politics, law, or engineering
  • Have in-depth understanding and appreciation of Ghana’s energy sector
  • Have worked 5 years in or with Ghana’s energy sector and relevant stakeholders
  • Have an extensive personal network within Ghana’s energy sector
  • Experience and interest in the working on political, policy, technology, economics and legislative matters relating to the energy sector in Ghana and wider region
  • Live and have the legal status/permission to work in Ghana
  • Capable of independently managing themselves on a day-to-day basis
  • Be experienced in undertaking primary research and analysis
  • Be experienced in drafting reports and policy documents
  • Comfortable and capable of providing high level decision makers with clear and understandable advice
  • Be a team player
  • Capable of operating flexible under pressure and short deadlines
  • Be business fluent in English (writing and speaking)
  • Have excellent command of the entire Microsoft Office software suit
