JOB TITLE: FILM/TV PRODUCTION MANAGER

GRADE: PRINCIPAL OFFICER

IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR: HEAD, FILM PRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT

FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: MIDDLE MANAGEMENT

 

OBJECTIVES OF POSITION

  • To oversee the overall operations of the organisation's video production internally or in collaboration with other production
  • To organise all necessary needs of audio-visual production, handle protect budget, prepare permits, documents, assist in daily production tasks and ensure a smooth run of production schedule

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with the production team to prepare and break down scripts for the purpose of scheduling, budgeting and baying a detailed logistical plan for shoot.
  • Scheduling all moving parts that make up a film/television pmduction
  • Read, research and assess ideas and finished scripts
  • Secure the finance for productions
  • Commission writers or secure the rights to literary materials and content
  • Pull together all the strands of creative and practical talent involved in a project to create a team
  • Conti the production's budget and allocate resources
  • Organise shooting schedules
  • Hold regular meetingswith the director to discuss characters and scenes
  • Troubleshoot problems that arise during production
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes of practice and health and safety laws
  • supervise the progress of the project from production through to post-production
  • deliver the finished production on time and to budget.

 

Contacts

  • Having a working relationship with industry equipment suppliers and personnel recruiters.
  • Knowledge of labour laws and regulations such as health and safety regulations, insurance, basic human resources issues and releases and permits.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of Masters Degree in Film or Television Production or related discipline from a recognized University or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • 6 years of work experience, three (3) of which must have been at the senior management level.
  • In addition must have skills in:
