Millar Cameron is the global leader in agribusiness recruitment in emerging markets and we are supporting a leading plantation forestry company. The business has operations across West Africa and is currently looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join them in Ghana. The Health and Safety Manager will be in charge of developing and implementing health and safety procedures across all operations.
The ideal Health and Safety Manager will have a relevant college or university degree, and at least 10 years of relevant experience.

The Health and Safety Manager’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Developing and implementing health and safety procedures across operations
- Ensuring these procedures comply with international best practice
- Training all employees in the procedures
- Conducting safety inspections frequently
- Developing and conducting risk assessments for all operations
- Building understanding of all employees for the importance of Personal Protective Equipment
- Being responsible for first aid procedures and training
- Installing fail-safe systems and establishing emergency procedures

The ideal Health and Safety Manager will have:
- A relevant college or university degree
- At least 10 years’ experience in Health and Safety
- Understanding of OHSAS
- Ideally also experience with OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Forestry Stewardship Council standards
- Strong integrity and ethics
- Understanding of corporate responsibility reporting
- Strong written and verbal communication
