--> A reputable organisation is looking to strengthen its IT Division and is, therefore, seeking to employ the following professional as IT Infrastructure Data Centre Manager
The IT Infrastructure Data Centre Manager will be responsible for planning, organising, and managing up to 20 staff members, contractors/consultants, and the overall IT operation with a focus on ensuring the stable operation of the organisation's IT Data Centre and server infrastructure This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimising key functional areas, such as the Data Centre, Windows and Linux Servers, Storage, Database Servers, Device Management, VMware & Nutanix Virtualisation and other infrastructure. The Infrastructure Data Centre Manager will also schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion This person will play a key role in contributing to the current and future strategic technology direction for the institutions of approx. 1000 staff and 260 sites nationwide
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction for in-house staff for the safe and reliable operations of data centre and infrastructure systems
- Provide hands-on project management for strategic department-wide initiatives. inclusive of technology selection, effort, timeline, cost, resource allocation, system engineering, RFP/SOW creation, vendor selection/management, solution delivery, and implementation
- Decompose large initiatives into constituent projects and executable technology delivery goals
- Oversee 2nd and 3rd level Infrastructure operations support for the department on a 24x7 basis, with on-call support during off-hours for initial response to disruptions, outages and incidents
- Implement ITSM and ITSM procedures with a focus on Incident Management, RCA/Problem Management, Change Management, Event Management, SLAs, production support, standards, and best practices for the technology organisation
