The Legal Officer is to provide Company Secretarial, Legal and Administrative support services for the office of the Company Secretary.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proffer legal opinion on matters referred by the organisation as directed by the Company Secretary.
  • Provide Company Secretarial, Legal and Administrative services for the Company Secretariat.
  • Handle general correspondence referred to the Company Secretariat as directed by the Company Secretary.
  • Carry out administrative functions in the office and any other tasks assigned by the Company Secretary.
  • Assist the Company Secretary by attending meetings and taking minutes of proceedings of all meetings as delegated and directed.
  • Serve on Committees in the Organisation as Secretary or Member/Secretary as the case may be.
  • Proofread minutes.
  • Assist in organising meetings and preparing documents for meetings.
  • Assist in follow-up before and after meetings with respect to compliance with decisions and directives.
  • Assist the Company Secretary to ensure governance with respect to the Organisation's Investee Companies.
  • Keep accurate records of minutes taken and other administrative documents as the case may be.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of Company Law, Rules & Procedures. Excellent communication, presentation and report-writing skills. Ability to maintain professional relationships with internal and external

  • Good knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office, Internet and other software tools.
  • High level of confidentiality and responsibility.
  • Good reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Dedication and commitment to duty.
  • Ready to work under pressure and extended hours. Good command over the English Language.
  • Good disposition.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity.
  • Hardworking and good team-player.
  • Responsible and reliable.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
  • Must have been called to the Ghana Bar

Work Experience

  • Five (5) years' minimum work experience in Company Secretarial work or candidate must be interested in Company Secretarial Work.

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good writing skills.
  • Computer literate. Possess a high sense of professionalism.
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive.
  • Good monitoring and management.
