Offshore Welders & Welding Supervisors - Oil & Gas Industry

Our Client is an international offshore Service provider experienced in Steel repairs and paint work and is looking for qualified candidates for the following position as Offshore Welders & Welding Supervisors

Welders

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Welding various diameter and wall thickness steel pipes and plates, using stick electrodes
• Using Automatic Welding System when required, and qualified to do so
• Following project and operational QA/QC requirements and parameters during different types of welding methods
• Following welding procedures during specified tasks
• Performing various pipe fit ups
• Fabricating project(s) materials
• Cutting and marking lay outs
• Ensuring working tools are maintained in a safe working condition
• Ensuring fire risk material, or material that could be damaged by sparks, slag, etc. are cleared from the work site and protected

• Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established HSES Safety Standards and Work Practices
• Ensuring that all activities are undertaken in accordance with all safety and quality requirements
  
  

Required Skills / Experience

• Knowledge and experience in offshore construction industry
• Minimum 1- 2 years offshore experience in a similar role
• Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate in related field
• Trade certificate in Welding
• Valid Offshore Medical
• BOSIET Training or Equivalent (OPITO approved)

Years of Experience : 1-2 years

Welding Supervisors

They will be responsible for the preparation and execution of welding operations. They will supervise and head the operations and the team under their command, and of which they will be operational members.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and manages technical aspects for his/her entire sector.
• Is responsible for the distribution of welding consumables
• Applies marking (date and time) to electrode cases
• Is responsible for management of drying ovens and updates to oven drying plans
• Checks that welding parameters and heat treatment parameters are respected
• Performs the dimensional and visual check of chamfers, approach of parts and welds in accordance with the welding book (welding techniques method) and gives permission to weld
• Certifies conformity of welds
• Works to monitor N.D.T (Non-Destructive Tests) before the hydrostatic tests
• Marks welds ready for N.D.T and makes sure that access and lighting are satisfactory
• Supervises and organizes the activities of his/her team
  
  

Required Skills / Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in welding supervisor and in the oil and gas offshore industry
• English speaking

Competencies

Good working knowledge with the software MS Project or Good working knowledge with the Office package (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) AutoCad
