Editor, Administrative Staff

Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the print and electronic publications as well as the website of the PSGH

Main Duties

  • Plan the contents of publications according to the publication's style, editorial policy, and publishing requirements.
  • Prepare, rewrite and edit copy to improve readability, or supervise others who do this work.
  • Verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources.
  • Review and approve proofs submitted by composing room prior to publication production.
  • Develop story or content ideas, considering reader or audience appeal.
  • Read, evaluate and edit manuscripts or other materials submitted for publication and confer with authors regarding changes in content, style or organisation, or publication.
  • Meet frequent with artists, typesetters, layout personnel, marketing direct, and production managers to discuss projects and resolve problems.
  • Supervise and coordinate work of reporters and other editor
  • Make manuscript acceptance or revision recommendations to the publisher. Interview and hire writers and reporters or negotiate contracts, royalties, anu payments for authors or freelancers.
  • Arrange tor copyright permissions.
  • Perform duties assigned by the Executive Secretary

Deputy Executive Secretary / Project Officer

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate achievement of key deliverables under the PSGH 10-Year Strategic Plan.
  • Writing proposals to seek funding for projects
  • Support advocacy initiatives to shape policies

  • Submit periodic/quarterly reports on the implementation of PSGH strategic plan through the Strategic Plan Co-ordinating Committee and Standard Executive Committee to the Governing Board
  • Perform any other function as may be assigned by the Executive Secretary. Strategic Plan Co-ordinating Committee and the Standing Executive Committee
  • Assist the Executive Secretary in the efficient administration of the Society, its Headquarters and regional offices.

Communication and Working Relationship

  • Establish and maintain effective communication with colleagues visitors and
  • Work with administrative staff in a collegiate manner
  • Participate in Headquarters Staff Meetings.

Person and People Development

  • Develop and maintain continuing personal and professional development to meet the changing demands in the area of pharmacy administration
  • Monitor own performance against agreed objedives and standards
  • Keep up to date on job related issues as appropriate
  • Contribute to the development of the administrative staff

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Take care of own safety and that of other colleagues and clients as appropriate
  • Work in compliance with Society health and safety requirements
