Job purpose
The successful candidate shall be responsible for providing on site nursing and health intervention services to the workforce; and working closely with the Environment, Health & Safety Departments to ensure seamless delivery of company-wide health services. Success in this role will be measured by the effectiveness of nursing service delivery.
Job Roles & Responsibilities: *
The duties that candidate will be responsible for
- Monitoring vital signs, performing tests and handling medical emergencies
- Keeping abreast and coordinating primary healthcare activities
- Assist to transport Patients to a nearby medical facility for further medical care as when the need arises
- Ensure aseptic procedures are done accurately and protocols for various procedures are duly followed

- Administer First Aid intervention when necessary
- Ensure that nursing ethics are adhered to
- Ensure logistics and require medicine for Site Clinic are available
- Ensure safe and therapeutic patient care environment is adhered to
- Advise management on promotion, prevention and educating the workforce where necessary on diseases.
- Ensure that site Clinic meets the required standards and staff privacy and dignity are maintained
- Administering treatments and medications as needed
- Ensure cleanliness of equipment and instruments to maintain sanitary conditions
- Ensure proper documentation and record keeping of all reported cases at facility for easy retrieval.
- Liaise with the Safety/HR department to organize periodic health surveillance activities
Job Requirement:
Qualification, Experience, Education, Skills and so on the candidate should possess
- Registered General Nurse with a Degree in Nursing, Patient care or Public Health is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience of which a minimum of three (3) years should have been in primary health care – an advantage would be if some of this experience was on industrial site;
- Proven experience in medical assessment (patient intake and assessment, ie, direct observation, medical tests and evaluations) Excellent Communication Skills (ability to provide clear vital information when necessary)
- The successful candidate must be a critical thinker (able to rapidly assess situations and make critical decisions about patient care) Excellent human relations, respect for all kinds of people and dedication to duty is a must
- Good computer skills and the ability to perform relevant nursing administrative and reporting functions
