Role Summary
This is a full-time or contract-based, on-site Structural Geologist role based in Ghana. The Structural Geologist will measure and interpret geological structures to support exploration, resource evaluation, and project development across the firm's mining portfolio. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing field work, conducting geological mapping, logging core and other drilling samples, and integrating geophysical datasets into structural models.
The role involves preparing technical reports, cross-sections, and 3D interpretations, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and presenting findings that inform investment and advisory decisions. The Structural Geologist will also contribute to due diligence efforts, reviewing project data, assessing geological risk, and supporting site visits and technical evaluations. The engagement is offered on a fixed-term contract basis, with duration and scope defined around active project needs.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong fieldwork experience, including geological mapping and on-site structural data collection.
- Candidate should have experience in orogenic gold deposits, or closely related systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in trenching, logging of core and other drill samples, with careful documentation of lithology, structure, and mineralization.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with geophysics and its application to structural interpretation and resource targeting.
- Candidates should possess experience with drilling programs, including planning, collar positioning, and integrating drill results into structural models.
- Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, or similar) and GIS tools.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in data interpretation and reporting.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work safely in field environments and travel to project sites as required.
- Availability to commit to an on-site contract engagement in Ghana for the defined project term.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Structural Geology, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in mining or exploration geology is highly beneficial; exposure to transaction or project due diligence is an advantage.
