Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site Special Needs Department Coordinator role based in Kumasi. The Coordinator will plan, deliver, and adapt lessons for learners with diverse needs, ensuring alignment with the British curriculum. Responsibilities include assessing student strengths and needs, developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and implementing evidence-based instructional strategies and accommodations. The role involves collaborating with classroom teachers, learning support staff, and families to promote inclusion and progress, as well as maintaining accurate records and reports.

The teacher will also support behavior management, facilitate small-group or one-on-one interventions, and participate in school-wide initiatives and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong knowledge of Special Education and working with learners with diverse Disabilities.
  • Candidates should possess effective Teaching skills and experience supporting learners in primary or Middle School settings.
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Relevant degree or certification in Special Education, Inclusive Education, or a related field.
  • Experience with the British curriculum or international school environments is an advantage.
  • Ability to design differentiated lesson plans and implement IEPs or individualized support strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive, safe, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and culturally responsive teaching practices.
