Full Job Description - Read Carefully


The Position

The Managing Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the Graphic Communications Group Limited and subject to such general directions as the Board may give, is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, guidance and supervision of the work of the Group.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage the group on day-to-day basis
  • Implement policies and support the formulation of strategic plans
  • Ensure the preparation and submission of relevant reports on the operations of the group to the board
  • Develop and maintain a management culture that will foster cooperation, commitment efficiency, accountability, productivity and healthy labour relations
  • Develop and implement systems and methods for effective monitoring and control of activities of the Group and
  • Any other relevant duties/responsibilities that may be assigned by the Board

Qualification Required & Experience

  • A Master’s Degree in the Sciences or Arts, preferably, Mass Communications, Journalism, Business/Public Administration, Engineering Economics, Management or a Post Graduate professional certification/qualification or relevant specialist industry training at a senior management position in a reputable institution
  • The successful candidate should be able to serve a term of 4 years before he/she reaches the compulsory retirement age 60 years

Competencies and Skills

  • The candidate must have the ability to design strategies that respond to the changing needs of the industry
  • Strong managerial and organizational skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the media and communication and in particular of news electronic transmission
  • Excellent administrative and supervisory skills
  • Good team player
  • Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in computer and software application
  • Conversant with the Financial Administration Act, the Procurement Act, the Internal Audit Agency act, the National Media Commission Act and the 1992 constitution
  • Excellent marketing orientation and good knowledge of media networks, particularly the print media.
