The vision of the country strategy (2021-2026) is a just, equitable and sustainable society where those with power are accountable and citizens realise their rights. The long-term impact of the strategy will be achieved through structural and transformational change in three (3) thematic focus areas: Just EconomyGender Justice and Social Inclusion; and Accountable Governance.

The main vehicles for programme delivery are designated projects funded by different donors. Among such initiatives is the DANIDA-funded four-year Strategic Partnership Initiative for Ghana and West Africa project through Oxfam Denmark. Built into the delivery are monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning frameworks for programmes and projects to help Oxfam in assessing progress toward the strategic ambitions and outcomes.

At Oxfam in Ghana, we tackle the root causes of social and economic inequalities and unaccountable power that violate human rights and drive poverty, injustice, and environmental destruction. We will achieve this by working with people and partners to address the systemic barriers that fuel inequality and poverty. We commit to acting as a safe, feminist and partner-led International NGO. We will work in contexts where we can have the greatest impact, channeling our resources to work in solidarity with allies and partners, to shape transformational programming and influencing at scale

Job Purpose

  • To lead and coordinate communication, media, and public engagement to raise Oxfam in Ghana’s visibility and support programme influencing.
  • Provide strategic direction and deliver communications, media, and behaviour-change activities that generate knowledge, evidence, and learning.
  • Support the Country Director on internal and external communications and manage social media, branding, and production of Information, Education and Communication materials.
  • Reporting to the Programmes and Policy Influencing Lead, the role will work closely with programme teams and partners to ensure timely supervision, follow-up, and reporting across programme areas, and to ensure that all communications adhere to Oxfam policies on visibility, safeguarding, safe programming, the code of conduct, and related procedures.
