Full Job Description - Read Carefully


Job Purpose

The Accounts Officer (Accounts Receivables) will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely invoicing, monitoring receivables, and supporting effective cash flow management within the organization. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage and maintain accurate records of all accounts receivable transactions 
  • Prepare and issue invoices to clients promptly 
  • Monitor customer payments and follow up on outstanding debts 
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies 
  • Prepare monthly receivables reports for management review 
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures 
  • Liaise with clients and internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations 
  • GRA Responsibilities: Prepare and submit monthly statutory deductions, including PAYE and withholding taxes, to GRA within required deadlines. Reconcile tax accounts and maintain proper documentation for compliance and audit purposes. Liaise with GRA on tax-related matters and ensure adherence to current tax regulations. 
  • VAT Responsibilities: Prepare monthly VAT computations, reconciliations, and ensure accurate submission of VAT returns. Maintain proper VAT records and supporting documents for compliance purposes. Identify and resolve VAT discrepancies while supporting audits when required. 
  • Payroll Responsibilities: Prepare and process monthly payroll, including salaries, deductions, overtime, and adjustments. Ensure accurate statutory deductions and timely payment of payroll obligations. Maintain payroll records, prepare reports, and address payroll-related queries

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
  • Professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, ICA, or equivalent) will be an advantage 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ working experience in Accounts Receivable or a similar finance role 
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting 
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Odoo, or ERP systems) 
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills 
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Results-driven with a proactive approach to problem-solving
