Job Summary
To manage and oversee all financial transactions, ensure accurate reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support business decision-making within a fast-paced FMCG distribution environment.
Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare monthly management accounts (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Maintain accurate general ledger and trial balance
- Perform monthly bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing

2. Inventory & Warehouse Accounting
- Monitor inventory movement across warehouse and distribution channels
- Reconcile physical stock vs system records
- Track damages, expiries, and stock variances
- Work closely with warehouse team to enforce stock control procedures
- Ensure proper valuation of inventory (FIFO/Weighted Average)
3. Payables & Receivables Management
- Manage supplier invoices and payments
- Monitor customer balances and collections
- Follow up on outstanding receivables (credit customers)
- Maintain accurate aging reports (AR & AP)
4. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Assist in weekly and monthly cash flow planning
- Monitor daily cash inflows and outflows
- Support budget tracking and variance analysis
- Ensure efficient working capital management
5. Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare and file VAT, NHIL, GET Fund, and COVID levy returns
- Handle PAYE and SSNIT filings
- Ensure compliance with GRA regulations
- Support external audits and tax audits
6. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Enforce financial controls across operations
- Identify and prevent leakages, fraud, and inefficiencies
- Strengthen petty cash and expense management systems
- Recommend improvements in accounting systems and processes
7. Sales & Distribution Support
- Reconcile sales across channels (Modern Trade, Open Market, General Trade)
- Validate discounts, promotions, and incentives
- Monitor driver sales, returns, and cash lodgments
- Support sales reporting and performance analysis

8. Systems & Reporting
- Maintain accurate data in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP)
- Prepare reports for Power BI / dashboard analysis
- Ensure proper documentation and filing systems
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, ICAG, CIMA – part/fully qualified preferred) .
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience, preferably in FMCG or distribution.
- Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and cost control.
- Proficiency in Excel (Advanced) and accounting software.
- Experience handling high-volume transactions.
- Strong understanding of distribution and warehouse operations.
- Able to bridge finance + operations (very important for FMCG -Kumasi)
