Role Summary
We are hiring a full-time Crane Operator for an on-site position based in Legon. Responsibilities include safely operating cranes to lift, move, and position materials, ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of equipment, and conducting regular inspections. The role requires adherence to all safety protocols and collaboration with team members to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mobile or tower cranes to lift, move, position, and place materials and equipment on construction sites
- Inspect crane equipment daily before operations to ensure functionality and safety compliance
- Interpret load charts, lift plans, and site instructions accurately
- Coordinate with site supervisors, riggers, and construction teams during lifting operations
- Ensure proper setup, stabilization, and safe operation of cranes at all times
- Monitor crane performance and report mechanical faults or maintenance needs promptly
- Adhere strictly to workplace safety regulations and operational standards
- Maintain records of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Support general site operations where necessary while maintaining operational discipline

Requirements
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience operating cranes within construction environments
- Valid Crane Operator certification/license
- Strong understanding of lifting procedures, load capacities, and safety protocols
- Experience working on residential, commercial, or high-rise construction projects is an advantage
- Ability to read and interpret lifting diagrams and operational instructions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physically fit and capable of working in demanding site conditions
- High level of responsibility, alertness, and attention to detail
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of preventive equipment maintenance
- Familiarity with construction site safety regulations in Ghana
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project timelines
- Strong problem-solving and operational judgment skills
