West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) is a leading peacebuilding civil society organisation in West Africa dedicated to promoting cooperation among peacebuilding practitioners and institutions across.
West Africa invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of IT Officer, available for immediate employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain the organisation’s ICT infrastructure at both the Regional Office and National Networks.
- Manage and support computer networks, including wireless and wired LAN, Printing Services, and internet services, software applications, including the Microsoft 365 suite, email services,
- Azure Active Directory (Azure AD / Entra ID), and Microsoft Exchange Services.
- Support the development and implementation of ICT policies relevant to departmental needs.
- Develop, implement, and manage backup strategies to ensure business continuity and effective disaster recovery for all devices and systems used in WANEP
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery policies and technologies.
- Plan and execute regular maintenance and update activities for all ICT equipment.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of the organisation’s ICT Assets.
- Install and update software, licenses, antivirus solutions, and system upgrades as required.
- Provide helpdesk support to staff at the regional secretariat and, when necessary, to National Networks.
- Ensure the efficient operation and utilization of all computer equipment, including printers and copiers.
- Monitor and evaluate network performance, including analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Enhance network security through access control, monitoring, evaluation, and proper documentation.
- Design and deliver training programs on standard operating procedures and ICT best practices for staff and other users.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all ICT assets and resources.
- Coordinate network upgrades in collaboration with vendors, including development, testing, evaluation, and installation of enhancements.
- Safeguard the organization’s data assets by ensuring confidentiality is always maintained.
- Provide expert advice to management on ICT-related issues.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
