The AIT Media Institute (AMI), a constituent Institute of the Accra Institute of Technology (AIT) - a leading Private University in Ghana, is recruiting part?time lecturers to deliver practical, industry?focused instruction in: Camera Operations, Video Editing, Directing, Scriptwriting, Lighting Engineering, Pre-Production And Post-Production Processes, Studio Operations, Master Control Room (MCR) Operations, and Graphics and Motion Design. 

We are specifically interested in recruiting Part-Time Lecturers for the following:

  1. Digital Video Editing
  2. Pre-Production, Post-Production and Finishing 
  3. Sound and Lighting Engineering & Operations

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate professional competency in the specialised area of  Television Production Operations, Broadcasting Technologies, and Journalism.
  • Designing lesson plans, exercises, and assessments that reflect current industry standards and workflows.
  • Delivering campus-based and online lectures and practical sessions using our Learning Management System (Lemass).
  • Delivering Multimedia Lab and Practical sessions using the facilities of AIT TV and AIT Radio.
  • Providing constructive feedback, mentoring students on projects, and supporting portfolio development.
  • Teaching on a flexible, part?time schedule to suit working professionals and industry contributors.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or an industry-relevant professional qualification or Practice in the field of Film & Media Studies, Broadcasting, Digital Media, Multimedia, Communication, Cinematography, Audio Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • A postgraduate Degree or Professional qualification will be an advantage but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of three years of industry-relevant experience is required for this position.
  • Practising media Professionals in-employment or Retired Media practitioners are encouraged to apply.

General Requirements

  • Proven industry experience in video production, editing, post?production, cinematography, motion graphics, audio post, or related fields.
  • Strong, demonstrable knowledge of contemporary tools and workflows 
  • Practical teaching, workshop?leading or mentoring experience is desirable; outstanding practitioners without formal teaching experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to break down complex technical concepts for learners at different levels.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Availability to teach part?time in Accra; some evening or weekend sessions may be required.

Mode and Schedule of Delivery of the Program

  • Program Mode of Delivery:  1. Campus-Based (Face-to-Face) 2. Online Delivery
  • Schedule: Weekdays(Monday to Friday) and Weekends (Saturday to Sunday)
  • Note: Lecturers may deliver the course on campus in Accra or deliver the course online from anywhere.
