Baptist Child Development Program (B.C.D.P) is a church-based local NGO founded out of the Ghana Baptist Convention (G.B.C.), and its office is based in Nyankpala. BCDP works in Tolon, Kumbungu, Sagnarigu and Central Gonja Districts of Northern and Savanna Regions of Ghana, respectively.

BCDP in Partnership with Children Believe works with deprived Communities using appropriate interventions such as Education, Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Livelihood Empowerment and other cross-cutting themes in Child Protection and Gender in providing an enabling environment for the holistic development of the child.

Position Mandate Accountable for operational leadership and implementation of partner programs, ensuring program goals are met, standards maintained, and risks mitigated

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop program implementation strategies, operational plans, budgets-
  • Ensure compliance with CB and donor policies, quality assurance, and transparency
  • Guide partner staff and CBOs in participatory planning, implementation, and monitoring. Link with CB Program Manager for operational info dissemination
  • Conduct community needs assessments, trend analysis, and share reports
  • Lead program fund management reviews, provide periodic narrative reports
  • Support other CB Program Partners as needed
  • Comply with CB and Partner policies
  • Collate and present implementation/progress reports to BCDP Board. Develop new partnerships for collaborations and funding leverage

Required Skills or Experience

Qualification/Requirements 

  • Minimum 6 years in the development field, 2 years in leadership. Degree in social science, Project Management, or related field; postgraduate degree advantageous
  • Fundraising and donor relations experience
  • Program/project planning, management, monitoring and evaluation, budgeting, reporting
  • Expertise in one or more CB thematic areas
  • Writing concept papers, success stories, grant proposals, donor reports
  • Stakeholder mobilisation, relationship building, networking
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet)
  • Excellent communication, fluent in relevant local languages Commitment to CB and Partner Programs Vision, Mission, and Values
