Tamale Development Trust (TDT) is a women-led community foundation based and operating in Tamale, Ghana, serving Tamale Metropolitan Area and Sagnarigu Municipality with a combined population of 716,455. TDT is a nonprofit organization registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Ghana Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and licensed by the Nonprofit Organizations Secretariat of the Department of Social Welfare, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

TDT was incorporated in November 2022 and commenced operations in July 2023. The core objective of TDT is to promote local philanthropy by mobilizing local resources and leveraging other donated grants to contribute to making Tamale a vital place for all residents.

Since incorporation, the affairs of TDT have been managed by local founding donor Board Members. As a local nonprofit organization in its start-up phase.

Job Summary

TDT is now seeking committed and skilled individuals to serve on a volunteer basis as part of its Management Team to support the day-to-day management of the Trust until the organization is financially able to pay monthly salaries. Expected Roles

  • Manage TDT’s communications and visibility.
  • Develop content for social media, reports, and newsletters.
  • Support grant research and proposal development.
  • Document and share impact stories

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Grant writing experience is an advantage

Personal Attributes

  • Creative, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills

General Requirements

  • Commitment to volunteer service and community development.
  • Willingness to work in a start-up nonprofit environment.
  • Availability to dedicate agreed time weekly.
  • Alignment with TDT’s values of inclusion, integrity, and kindness.
  • Alignment with TDT’ Local funding or resource (Finance and in-kind) mobilization model.
