JOB SUMMARY
The General Manager serves as the chief strategic and operational leader of Oak Plaza Suites Kumasi, responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, financial profitability, market-share growth, and strong owner relations. This role oversees all departments, ensuring service quality aligned with Oak Plaza brand standards while adapting to the unique opportunities and competitive landscape of Kumasi and the broader Ghanaian hospitality market.
The General Manager ensures that service and operational strategies are implemented effectively, resulting in high guest satisfaction, strong employee engagement, and consistent business growth. The role inspires and directs the property leadership team, holding them accountable for meeting performance objectives and supporting their professional development.
This position also plays a key role in community relations - representing Oak Plaza Suites within Kumasi's business, tourism, and cultural sectors while building strong relationships with local authorities, organizations, corporate clients, travel partners, and the surrounding community.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education & Experience
Required:
- 2-year diploma from an accredited institution in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, or a related field, with 8+ years’ progressive experience in hotel operations, sales & marketing, finance, or related disciplines.
- OR
- 4-year bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, or related field, with 6+ years’ experience in hotel leadership roles.
Preferred:
- Prior experience as a General Manager or Hotel Operations Manager in a full-service or upscale property.
- Experience working in Ghana or within West African hospitality markets.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Demonstrated career growth with a record of exceptional performance.
