Definition of the job
Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and process equipment to ensure efficient and safe plant operations. Supports production by minimizing downtime, optimizing machine performance, and executing preventive maintenance on production and facility systems. Interprets mechanical drawings and P&IDs, prepares maintenance reports, supervises external vendors, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and company standards to enhance productivity and operational reliability.
Activities
- Repairing and assembling of machine parts;
- Offer assistance to operations in running machines at standard speeds and center-line conditions to enhance productivity and efficiency;
- Prepares report, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems;
- Maintains and repairs maintenance and process equipment;
- Ensure safety, technical standards, food safety, company policies and procedures are always met;
- Monitors operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime;
- Adhere to routine maintenance plan;
- Guarantee operation of mechanical equipment by ensuring completion of preventative maintenance prerequisites on production machines, motors, engines, conveyor systems, and pneumatic tools;
- Inspect and supervise work done by external vendors;
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and requisition supplies and parts;
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems;
- Assist in the setting up of ventilation, refrigeration and conduct repairs when necessary;
- Survey buildings to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards;
- Reads and interprets mechanical drawings to aid in repair work.

Specific requirements for the work position
Qualifications and prerequisites:
- MET 3 with five years’ working experience in the field of Mechanical Technician or HND with two years’ working experience in the field;
- Good knowledge in Troubleshooting (Pneumatic, Hydraulics etc.) and the use of Process and Instrumentation Diagram (PID).
Soft skills:
- The ideal candidate should possess strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, and demonstrate both effective teamwork and collaboration as well as the ability to work independently. A high level of analytical thinking is essential.
