Job Description

  • Reports To: Managing Director / CEO

Position Summary

The Sales and Marketing Manager leads all sales and marketing initiatives across Bricks & Mint's diverse business portfolio including civil construction, infrastructure, fleet services, and trading operations. This senior leadership position is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing marketing strategies, building client relationships, and expanding market presence in Ghana's construction and business services sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sales and Marketing Leadership

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategy
  • Set sales targets and revenue goals across all business divisions
  • Create market penetration strategies for new and existing services
  • Identify new business opportunities and market segments
  • Develop competitive positioning and value propositions
  • Lead annual sales planning and budgeting

Sales Management

  • Lead and manage sales team across all divisions
  • Develop sales processes, methodologies, and tools
  • Set individual and team sales targets
  • Monitor sales pipeline and forecast revenue
  • Track sales performance against targets
  • Implement sales training and development programs

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key accounts
  • Develop partnerships with contractors, developers, and businesses
  • Pursue government and institutional contracts
  • Represent company at industry events and trade shows
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis

Marketing Strategy and Execution

  • Develop integrated marketing campaigns across all channels
  • Manage brand positioning and corporate identity
  • Oversee digital marketing (website, social media, SEO)
  • Plan and execute advertising campaigns
  • Develop marketing collateral and sales materials
  • Manage public relations and media relationships

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with major clients
  • Manage key accounts and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Conduct regular client meetings and reviews
  • Address client concerns and resolve issues
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities
  • Develop client retention strategies

Proposal and Tender Management

  • Lead preparation of proposals and tender responses
  • Coordinate with technical teams on project proposals
  • Develop pricing strategies and commercial terms
  • Ensure compliance with tender requirements
  • Present proposals to clients
  • Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities
  • Conduct customer needs assessment
  • Gather market feedback and insights
  • Analyze pricing trends and strategies
  • Track industry developments and opportunities

Marketing Budget Management

  • Prepare and manage marketing budget
  • Allocate resources effectively across campaigns
  • Monitor marketing ROI and effectiveness
  • Control marketing expenses
  • Report on budget performance

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and develop sales and marketing team
  • Set performance objectives and conduct evaluations
  • Motivate and coach team members
  • Foster collaborative and high-performance culture

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare monthly sales and marketing reports
  • Track and analyze sales metrics and KPIs
  • Provide market intelligence to management
  • Present performance reviews to executive team
  • Recommend strategic adjustments based on data

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field
  • MBA or professional marketing qualifications (CIM) highly preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 7-10 years progressive sales and marketing experience
  • At least 5 years in managerial/leadership role
  • Proven track record in B2B sales and business development
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, or related industries preferred
  • Successful history of meeting/exceeding revenue targets
  • Experience managing sales and marketing teams
