Purpose of Role:

The purpose of this role is to oversee and manage maintenance works to ensure efficient, safe, and timely execution.

Results / Accountabilities

• Manage a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, and providing guidance and support.
• Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules, plans, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and disruptions to operations.
• Regularly inspect equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify maintenance needs.
• Diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and determine necessary repairs or replacements.
• Coordinate and perform repairs on equipment and machinery.
• Ensure that maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain documentation related to safety procedures and compliance.
• Monitor and manage spare parts and equipment inventory.
• Provide training and development opportunities to maintenance staff.
• Keep the team updated on industry best practices and new technologies.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
• Generate reports to track maintenance performance and costs.

Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• Minimum HND in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role preferably in a food manufacturing industry
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and processes. Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of the food technology and manufacturing process
• A solid track record of effectively, leading, managing and/or supervising a team.

Preferred skills:

• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
• Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, including team members, clients, and project managers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations and practices, with a commitment to ensuring a safe work environment.
• Good organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Meticulous attention to detail to oversee project quality and accuracy.
• Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for project management, documentation, and communication.
