Position Summary:
The Agricultural Farming Manager oversees all daily farm operations, ensuring efficient production, high-quality crop management, and compliance with agricultural standards. This role involves planning, supervising farmworkers, managing budgets, implementing sustainable farming practices, and ensuring optimal productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Farm Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day farm activities including planting, cultivating, harvesting, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet seasonal targets.
- Monitor crop/livestock health and coordinate appropriate treatments or interventions.
- Ensure farm equipment, tools, and facilities are properly maintained.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Recruit, train, and supervise farmworkers and seasonal laborers.
- Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity and safety.
- Foster a positive and efficient work environment.

Resource & Budget Management
- Manage inventories of seeds, feed, fertilizers, pesticides, and supplies.
- Prepare and manage the farm’s operating budget.
- Optimize resource usage to reduce waste and increase profitability.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to agricultural regulations, environmental standards, and health and safety policies.
- Maintain accurate records of farm activities, inputs, and outputs.
Sustainability & Innovation
- Implement sustainable agricultural practices to improve soil health and conserve water.
- Evaluate new technologies or farming methods to improve productivity.
Vendor & Customer Relations
- Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, contractors, and external partners.
- Support sales and distribution of farm products when needed.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Animal Science, or related field (preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in farm management or agricultural operations.
- Experience with both crop and/or livestock production (depending on farm type).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Knowledge of modern farming techniques and equipment operation.
- Excellent organizational, budgeting, and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to work long hours, outdoors, and in various weather conditions.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to make quick operational decisions.
