The Agri Manager provides a support role to the Sales (RM/CPE) and Credit Teams by providing an objective view of Credit Risk through quantitative and qualitative analysis, to support credit decisions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Achieve net profit growth for the Bank.
  • Manage target and budget goals whilst ensuring effective control of costs for a range of functional areas to increase cost efficiency.
  • Deliver exceptional service that exceeds customers' expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with external parties to support the sales strategy. (Agricultural Associations, Government departments etc.)
  • Maintenance of expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices, provision of proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide sales support and services to ensure retention of clients.
  • Develop rigorous business cases to drive new, differentiated market growth strategies (e.g. new product and market development) as well as defensive strategies to maintain market share.
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • To monitor market and industry developments, including but not limited to regulatory changes, climatic events etc., which may impact our Agri Portfolio (positively or negatively) to ensure proactive alignment to mitigate portfolio risk and/or unlock opportunities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the market and industry trends, including competition and identify opportunities and threats from these entrants.
  • Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence (information) together with analyzing trends and data.
  • Maintain Peer information for Primary Agriculture (production yields, farmgate prices and cost /ha for the various commodities)
  • Obtain and maintain supply, demand and price trends for Secondary Agriculture.

    • Cash Flow Validation for Applications
    • Agri Reports
  • Secondary Agri Credit Applications
    • Provide input on Credit Applications with specific focus on commodity outlook (volume & price)
