BRAC Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd (BGSL) is a socially responsible for-profit organization, engaging people, especially women in sustainable economic and income generating activities in Ghana. Our mission is to provide a range of financial services responsibly to people at the bottom of the pyramid. BGSL is seeking applications from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill the following positions:
PURPOSE
The Internal Audit Officer will perform audit and provide assurance to management
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Condict various types of audits such as Branch audit, Process audit, Regulatory audit etc. as per the approved audit plan
- Evaluate internal controls, risk management and governance processes
- Prepare audit programs, working papers and detailed audit report
- Assist in investigating reported irregularities or discrepancies
- Follow up on management actions plans and verify implementation
- Maintain audit documentation and ensure the utilization of audit software throughout the audit process
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk exposure
- Perform any other duty that may be assigned by the Internal Audit Manager

Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Required Skills or Experience
EXPERIENCE (Including sector/industry)
- Having at least 3 years’ experience in Internal/External Audit along with Finance, Assurance, Compliance, Risk Management Services and Information Systems Audit including at least 2 years in the same role.
- Experience in financial services sector.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Good understanding of IIA standards, and IT internal control systems along with providing compliance and risk management services in an organization.
- IT audit, communication and interpersonal skills, good presentation skills and goal-oriented etc.
- Good analytical ability, problem solving, people management, leadership driven etc.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s Degree: Partly qualified Certified Internal Auditor, or Fully qualified Certified Information Systems Auditor is required
- Concentration / Major: Information Technology
