Job Description

Reports to: Fleet Operations Manager / Head of Operations

Role Summary

We are seeking a diligent and proactive National Service Personnel to support our Health and Safety functions. This role is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in implementing safety protocols, conducting site inspections, and promoting a culture of safety across our offices, fleet operations, and project sites.

The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Support in conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments of offices, workshops, and project sites.
  • Assist in the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and help in preparing detailed reports.
  • Help maintain and update health and safety records, including inspection reports, incident logs, and training documentation.
  • Support the distribution and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for staff and drivers.
  • Assist in organizing and delivering basic health and safety induction and awareness sessions for employees.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations (e.g., Factories, Offices and Shops Act).
  • Promote safety awareness by preparing and displaying safety posters, signs, and bulletins.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • A recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must be eligible for National Service in the 2025/2026 service year.
  • Strong interest in developing a career in health and safety management.
  • Excellent observation, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively as part of a team.
  • No prior professional experience is required, but any safety-related volunteer or project work is an advantage.

Learning Outcomes & KPIs

  • Understanding of health and safety compliance in a multi-faceted business environment.
  • Ability to conduct basic risk assessments and safety inspections.
  • Number of safety inspections supported per month.
  • Contribution to the maintenance of a zero-LTI (Lost Time Injury) record.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of safety documentation and reports.
