We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Business Development Manager with in-depth experience in the medical device industry, particularly in the sale of imaging systems and hospital equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop market penetration strategies for imaging and hospital devices (e.g. X-ray, ultrasound, patient monitors, operating room equipment etc).
  • Lead the preparation of sales proposals, technical presentations, tenders, and product demonstrations.
  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centers, and healthcare networks.
  • Maintain strong networks with key decision-makers including hospital administrators, radiologists, procurement officers, and biomedical engineers.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales and marketing team aligned with business goals.
  • Set performance targets in collaboration with management, coach team members, and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer-centricity within the team.
  • Collaborate with regulatory affairs, technical service teams, and logistics to ensure efficient customer onboarding and support.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry conferences, and professional networking events.
  • Track KPIs, market activities, and sales performance using CRM and business intelligence tools.
  • Prepare timely reports and insights to guide commercial and operational decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, tender requirements, and quality standards in all business transactions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Biomedical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced healthcare management certification is a plus.
  • 3–10 years of hands-on experience in business development or sales within the medical device sector, particularly with imaging systems and hospital-based technologies.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed targets, build lasting customer relationships, and drive strategic growth.
  • Experience building and managing sales teams within a structured business environment.
  • Strong understanding of Ghana’s healthcare procurement landscape and tendering processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Ability to travel as business demands.
