Job Overview

Drive strong Governance and Controls in the factory, Compute cost of materials, manage factory Budgets and ensure controls on stock, Steer Business Performance and provide Decision support to key stakeholders and factory. Work alongside the production management to provide accurate production costs by material/overheads.

Duties

  • Play a pivotal role in business partnering between the manufacturing operations and the finance department.
  • Direct Material costing – Both Imported and local. This will involve reconciling raw material receipts, issues, and usage, finished products and work-in-progress.
  • Effects stock adjustment after stock count.
  • Work alongside the production management to provide accurate production costs by material/overheads.
  • Assist factory management/officers in making accurate entries in SAP Business One.
  • Provide factory department heads with relevant support such as management information (experience in areas of product costing, capex).
  • Budgetary planning and control of factory overheads.
  • Report on monthly variances giving key insight in what areas need focus and where factory performance was not great.
  • Ensure variance analysis on major stock losses as well as usage variances. Drive delivery of controllable costs as a % of turnover.
  • Deliver the business waste reduction programme for factory. Identifies cost and asset utilization improvement opportunities.
  • Drive and coordinate the forecasting process to help the business make reliable decisions, includes budget, financial forecasts, etc. Assists in providing Supply Chain factory information required for forecasting and strategic planning to the Finance Team.
  • Guide and support the delivery of key projects/capex in the factory.
  • Timely and accurate reporting of factory results.
  • Work closely with sales and production team on demand/production planning process (Actively participate in the production SOP process).
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management Accountant

Qualification Required & Experience

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar area of study.
  • CIMA/ACCA/ICA part qualified or studying toward professional accountancy qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous manufacturing experience/sound manufacturing background will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a Supply Chain Finance role with good knowledge of costing/factory processes.
  • Minimum of 2 years SAP Business One /SAP hands on experience or equivalent.
  • Must have intermediate-advanced level Excel skills.

  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
