The institution serves more than 64,000 clients through a network of 20 points of sale and over 650 employees.

What will your role be?

The Legal Administrative & Compliance Officer will ensure that the Client’s land documents are searched at the land commission. Also, to ensure that land-related transactions are well prepared and registered, and ensure that all documents necessary for filing at the Registrar General’s department are filed. He/ She will also ensure that all court cases are drafted and ready for filing in courts and perform all secretarial duties.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for land searches within Accra
  • Supervises land searches at the outstations.
  • Responsible for all follow-ups at the Bank of Ghana and Registrar General’s Department.
  • Responsible for registering affidavits, debentures, collateral charges, mortgages, change in directors/shareholders, annual returns and company documents within Accra.
  • Supervises the registration of affidavits, debentures, collateral charges and mortgages at the outstations.
  • Ensure that all court cases are drafted and ready for filing in courts.
  • Responsible for drafting and responding to letters and other correspondence

GENERIC ACTIVITIES

  • Review land documents submitted by branch under the supervision of the Head of Legal.
  • Conduct searches at the land commission on land documents and submit the result to the Head of Legal.
  • Register Affidavit or mortgages signed by client/guarantor/third party to complete the collateral process.
  • Maintain regular contact and communication with branch throughout the registration of affidavit or mortgage and provide the needed clarification.
  • Monitor and communicate the registration of landed collaterals for and on behalf clients so as to aid in loan disbursement or discharge of collateral.
  • Ensure that all Forms or documents are duly endorsed by all signatories involved in the affidavit or mortgage processes.
  • Create and update database of all lands used as collaterals, the nature of the charge created on the land, their respective owners and any other relevant information required.
  • Act on behalf of Advans Ghana at the various Government agencies
  • Develop daily reports for all land and court-related matters.
  • Ensure that all a comprehensive data exist for all land-related transactions.
  • Ensure that all statutory payments required for searches and registrations are duly paid at the required offices with receipts
  • Assist in the acquisition of annual returns and certificates for Advans Ghana.
  • Assist with all court processes by filing of processes, getting a bailiff to serve clients where necessary.
  • Handle all secretarial duties of the Legal Department.

Required Skills or Experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least a first degree in Humanities or a related field from a recognized institution
  • A minimum of 3 years of working experience in a similar industry
