Software Engineer - Kudi Systems Limited

Kudi Systems Limited is a fintech startup in Ghana, building innovative digital payment solutions through our flagship platform, SPPay. To accelerate our product development and strengthen our engineering capacity, we are seeking a Software Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our web-based applications and APIs that power Kudi’s payment services.

This is a hybrid role (remote-first) with occasional on-site collaboration at our head office: C/146/3 Esseefo Road, Asylum Down, Accra, Ghana.

The role is a full-time position with a 6-month renewable contract.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using PHP (Laravel).
• Build and maintain responsive, high-performance front-end interfaces using Vue.js.
• Collaborate with product, design, and QA teams to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Integrate with third-party APIs and payment gateways to support the SPPay ecosystem.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure quality and reliability.
• Contribute to technical architecture discussions and participate in sprint planning.
• Work independently and manage deliverables effectively in a remote-first environment.
• Maintain documentation for code, features, and integrations.

What We’re Looking For

• Completed tertiary/university education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Completed National Service.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in software development.
• Proficiency in PHP (Laravel), Vue.js, and MySQL.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication (OAuth, JWT), and version control (Git).
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, CI/CD, and cloud environments (e.g., DigitalOcean, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Github).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to writing clean, maintainable code.
• Experience in fintech or payment systems development is a plus.
