Role Description
We are seeking a Solar PV O&M Engineer (National Service Personnel) for the 2025/2026 service year. This role is based in Accra, with frequent fieldwork across project sites. The successful applicant will report directly to the Construction and Operations Manager.
You will be responsible for supporting the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of Starsight Energy’s solar PV systems. The role involves practical, hands-on work at client sites to ensure system reliability, efficiency, and safety. This position is ideal for a technically minded graduate eager to work in the field and gain real-world experience in solar engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily performance of assigned solar PV sites and identify faults or performance issues.
- Share performance report of assigned solar PV sites with clients.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on modules, inverters, and electrical components.
- Conduct site inspections, system cleaning, tightening, and basic electrical testing.
- Troubleshoot first-level technical issues and report findings to the construction and Operations Manager.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and performance records for all assigned sites.
- Ensure safety procedures and PPE use are followed during all field operations.
- Support preparation of maintenance reports and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and spare parts in good condition and ensure proper handling on site.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field (Must be eligible for 2025/2026 National Service).
- Basic understanding of solar PV systems and electrical safety principles.
- Ability to use hand tools and basic testing instruments, such as a multimeter.
- Comfortable working independently and spending significant time on project sites.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Attention to detail, safety-conscious, and eager to learn.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with monitoring platforms is a plus.
