The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Assistant Head: Assets, Estate and Procurement.

Job Description

  • Assist in developing and implementing asset management policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date asset registers, including tagging and valuation.
  • Monitor the utilization, maintenance and disposal of assets in line with regulations
  • Conduct periodic audits of organizational assets
  • Support the management of office buildings, residential facilities and other estates
  • Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of facilities and equipment
  • Participate in planning and supervising construction, renovation or refurbishment projects
  • Support the procurement of goods, works and services in line with policies and procedures
  • Assist in preparing annual procurement plans and ensuring timely implementation
  • Participate in bid evaluation, supplier selection and contract management
  • Maintain supplier databases and monitor vendor performance
  • Ensure compliance with procurement laws, regulations and internal control systems
  • Prepare reports on asset, estate and procurement activities for management review
  • Provide technical advice on policy development and improvement of processes

Qualification Required & Experience

  • Must have a Master’s degree in Architecture, Estate management, Building Technology, Building and Construction, Procurement & Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in asset management, real estate industry, procurement and construction with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Must not be below 40 years and not more than 55 years
  • Having proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, AutoCAD, ERP software is an added advantage
  • A professional teacher and a member of GNAT in good standing will be an added advantage
  • Having professional certification (e.g, CIPS, RICS or equivalent) is an advantage
  • Members with Ghana Education Service/TVET Service who possess the above experience and qualifications should in addition be on the rank of assistant director II or its equivalent
  • In-Service staff of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) experience should also have at least 2 years working experience within the organization in addition to the above qualification to apply
  • Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, asset management systems and estate operations
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical and communication skills
