About the Role

BlueCrest College seeks a passionate and experienced Adjunct Faculty member to teach in our Professional Certificate in Event Management & Decoration (CEMD) program. The faculty member will deliver both theoretical and practical instruction across a wide range of event management and décor modules, preparing students with the skills, knowledge, and entrepreneurial mindset required to succeed in the event industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned modules such as:
  • Introduction to the Events Industry
  • Event Planning, Goals & Objectives
  • Event Marketing, Pricing & Proposal Writing
  • Event Staffing, Logistics & Customer Service
  • Event Communication & Risk Management
  • Venue Styling, Draping & Décor Techniques
  • Floral Works, Balloon Décor & Centerpiece Design
  • Sustainable Event Practices & Entrepreneurship
  • Guide students through practical hands-on sessions in event décor and set-ups.
  • Incorporate Business Model Canvas and entrepreneurial tools to evaluate and strengthen student business ideas.
  • Provide mentorship and professional guidance to students, including career and business pathways in the events industry.
  • Assess student learning through assignments, projects, practicals, and examinations.
  • Ensure timely grading, feedback, and submission of results.
  • Maintain class attendance and ensure active student participation.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator in curriculum development and continuous improvement.
  • Encourage the use of sustainable and inclusive practices in event management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • At least 3–5 years of professional experience in event management, event décor, or related creative industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing events of varying sizes (corporate, social, cultural, etc.).
  • Strong practical skills in venue styling, floral and balloon décor, draping, and table design.
  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship, marketing, branding, and e-commerce within the events sector.
  • Prior teaching/training experience at the tertiary or professional level is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage classroom and hands-on activities.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools, trends, and sustainable practices.

  • Part-time/Adjunct teaching contract (12-week course cycle + 1-month internship supervision).
