Role
We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced and qualified nurse to join our team as a part-time school nurse. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing general nursing care to a multi-cultural community.
Job Functions
The School Nurses’ main duties and responsibilities shall include the following:
- To respond swiftly and make professional judgements to identify health needs and deal with emergency situations.
- Take responsibility for your own and others health and safety in the working environment.
- Maintain accurate records both written and computer-based recording systems.
- To act as a role model in applying good infection prevention and control measures.
- Ensure health care plans are accurate and updated.
- To ensure adequate and appropriate stock levels are maintained of medication.
- To ensure medical equipment are well maintained throughout the medical centre.
- Attend to all basic health care needs of the students, faculty and staff and make recommendations for dealing with complex health issues.
- Write reports on activities at the health centre.
- Provide periodic public education on communicable diseases.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualification, Experience and Skill
- A degree in nursing with a minimum of four (4) year experience in a similar role or accident and emergency centre.
- A retired Nurse.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Demonstrated experience in CPR and first aid.

- Understanding of health care systems in institutions.
- Demonstrated ability of problem-solving and excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated time management skills.
- Ability to interact with people at all levels, combining confidence and assertiveness in a calm, courteous and professional manner.
- Kind and empathetic.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
- Possesses competent IT skills in Word, Excel, and databases, etc.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the medical centre.
- Has a professional, adaptable and proactive attitude.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality, tact and discretion.
- Has excellent written communication, documentation and literacy skills.
- Understands the need for accurate and timely documentation
- Able to organise information and document assessments.
- Attention to detail.
