Your Impact

• Supervise the maintenance of ventilation systems to ensure safe and healthy working conditions underground.

As Part Of Our Team, You Will

• Ensure underground mining activities are conducted in compliance with local occupational health standards.
• Closely collaborate with mine leadership, safety, and planning engineers.
• Coordinate the team to execute upgrades and modifications to existing ventilation systems to improve efficiency and meet operational requirements.
• Maintain ventilation systems continuously to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Provide input into the assessment of relevant risks and coordinate the team to execute mitigation measures.
• Continuously monitor for risks.
• Conduct ventilation surveys using standard equipment and methods to ensure proper quantities of fresh air are supplied to active mine headings.
• Contribute to the planning and testing of emergency egress plan.

Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist

Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):

• Bachelors’ degree in Mining Engineering.

Experience

• 10 years working in an underground mining environment of this;
• Preferred a minimum of 2 years’ experience in underground mining operational time such as blasting, drilling, haulage and service crew works.
• Preferred 5 years of previous experience in ventilation engineering.
• Preferred previous experience in supervising a team.

Additional Knowledge

• Strong knowledge in Underground Mine Ventilation.
• Strong understanding of Underground Mining Systems and Operations.

Technical Skills

• Advanced administrative skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in the use of Mine Planning software.
• Proficient in Ventsim, and Microsoft Office Software.

Working Conditions

The location for this position is at our Ahafo South mine site.
