Shoe Fabriek is Ghana’s premier shoe manufacturing company, dedicated to producing high-quality, locally made footwear that competes on the global stage. As part of our growth and turnaround journey, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Factory & Production Manager to lead operations at our Akropong facility.
Role Overview
The Factory & Production Manager will oversee all aspects of shoe manufacturing—driving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring a safe and motivated workforce. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of footwear production and a proven ability to manage change in fast-paced, turnaround environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Execution – Develop and implement production schedules; ensure daily targets are achieved with minimal downtime.
- Process Improvement & Cost Control – Optimize workflows, cut waste, and apply lean methodologies to improve profitability.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance – Enforce strict quality standards, address defects, and maintain compliance with safety and industry regulations.
- Team Leadership & Development – Lead, mentor, and motivate supervisors and line staff; build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination – Ensure timely availability of raw materials and manage inventory efficiently.
- Turnaround & Change Management – Drive operational improvements aligned with the company’s growth and turnaround strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or related field.
- 7+ years of production management experience in footwear manufacturing (or a closely related industry).
- Strong track record in turnaround environments, cost reduction, and process optimization.
- Technical expertise in shoe production processes (cutting, stitching, assembly, finishing).
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
