The Ghana Philanthropy Forum is a not-for-profit organization registered in Ghana. As a philanthropy support organization, we work to strengthen the capacities of not-for-profit organizations and networks; developing knowledge products through cutting edge research and building social action partnerships with public and private corporations in aid of increasing the visibility and ability of non-profit organizations to leverage resources to support their activities.

Through research, we scale up approaches that work, disseminate learning and best practices, and convening stakeholders to promote broader collaboration and impact.

Job Description

GPF and partner urgently seeks to fill 3 teaching positions in their satelite educational facilities in two locations. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering personalized instruction to each student by encouraging interactive learning.
  • Planning and implementing educational activities and events.
  • Ensuring your classroom is clean and orderly.
  • prepare and deliver lessons to classes of different ages and abilities
  • mark work, give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils' progress and development
  • research new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devise and write new curriculum materials
  • select and use a range of different learning resources and equipment, including podcasts and interactive whiteboards
  • prepare pupils for qualifications and external exams
  • manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour
  • communicate with managed and parents over pupils' progress and participate in staff meetings, parents' evenings and whole-school training events
  • Supervising classes and prep hours to ensure all students are learning in a safe and productive environment.
  • organise and participate in extra-curricular activities, church services, social activities and sporting events
  • Must be able to teach basic computer skills to children

Other Responsibilities

The person in this position will serve as Pupils House Master responsible for a boarding house's smooth operation, student safety and welfare, and fostering a positive, disciplinary environment. Their duties include providing pastoral and academic guidance, acting as a parental figure, managing facilities, overseeing student /beneficiary behaviour and academic progress, and communicating with parents and school leadership. 

The candidate will be provided with a single room accommodation. These is no room to accommodate dependents.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must be computer literate
  • Willing to relocate and live in a single room, no accommodation for a dependent.
