Galiano Gold Inc. is a dual-listed (NYSE: TSX) mining company focused on exploration, development, and operations. Its subsidiary, Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd, is a multi-pit mining complex on the Asankrangwa Gold Belt, featuring a 5.5Mtpa processing plant with expansion potential.

Job Description

Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd is seeking to employ a well-motivated and experienced Junior Mining Engineers in the Technical Services Department. The successful candidates will support smooth operational performance while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards.

JOB PURPOSE

The Junior Mining Engineer will support the Technical Services team in the planning, design, and monitoring of mining operations to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable extraction of ore. The role involves providing technical assistance in drilling, blasting, production scheduling, and data analysis, while gaining full hands-on exposure to mining operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of short-term mine plans and production schedules.
  • Support drilling and blasting activities, including design, monitoring, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct pit surveys, data collection, and analysis to track progress against mining plans.
  • Collaborate with geologists, surveyors, and other technical teams to optimize ore recovery.
  • Monitor and report on daily mining activities to ensure adherence to operational KPIs.
  • Participate in hazard identification, risk assessments, and implementation of safety procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing operational costs.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal use and management review.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Skills or Experience

Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ practical experience in open pit mining operations.
  • Basic understanding of mine planning, design principles, and mineral extraction methods.
  • Familiarity with mining software (e.g., Deswik, O-PIT Blast, or similar) will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the mining industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
