Job Description

Hollard Ghana is looking for Branch Manager for Koforidua

Job Objective

The Branch Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing the overall operations of the Koforidua Branch. This includes managing Sales, Underwriting, and Claims functions, while delivering excellent and efficient service to clients and stakeholders. The successful candidate will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships, managing operational costs, and ensuring the branch aligns with the company’s performance and growth targets.

  • Reports to: Head, Regional Market
  • Job Location: Koforidua, Eastern Region

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain Hollard’s strategic initiatives and objectives at the Koforidua Branch to ensure alignment with the company’s overall vision.
  • Meat and exceed annual Gross Written Premium (GWP) target (inclusive of new business and renewals)
  • Prospect and secure business from both direct clients and agency channels by recruiting and managing your own team of Hollard2U agents to support premium growth.
  • Generate business from assigned brokers within the branch’s catchment area
  • and maintain strong, value-adding relationships with them.
  • Manage the underwriting of all lines of business in accordance with approved policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage claims expenditure and ensure profitability, while adhering to the agreed business plan and cost containment measures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring client satisfaction and prompt
  • resolution of complaints in line with Hollard’s service standards.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports, business updates, and presentations on key deliverables, performance indicators, and other assigned projects.

  • Retain and develop branch talent while promoting an inclusive and equitable
  • work environment in line with Hollard’s employment equity objectives.
  • Recruit, train, and provide ongoing support to Sales Executives to enable them to meet and exceed their individual and team targets.
  • Ensure full compliance with corporate governance standards, regulatory
  • requirements, and Hollard’s internal policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the accurate and secure maintenance of branch records in accordance
  • with the company’s corporate records management policy.
  • Ensure effective management of human resource matters for all categories of employees and agents, including performance management and compliance with HR policies.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A university degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field is required
  • Advance Diploma in Insurance, ACII or related professional qualification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in managerial or supervisory roles.
  • Have strong knowledge of insurance products, rating principles and risk assessment.
  • Proficient in underwriting practices, including the ability to interpret policy wordings and understanding how underwriting impacts claims.
  • Understand claims procedures and risk assessment principles
  • Proven ability in prospecting and business development
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent Communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
