A nipper in a mining firm plays a versatile and essential role, often considered an entry-level position
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist and support other crew members by delivering essential supplies and tools to various locations within the mine.
- Carry out a pre-start checks before operating LV machines.
- Help maintain and organize equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order.
- Ensure effective housekeeping, keep the work site clean and organized, which is crucial for safety and efficiency.
- Nippers often assist in transporting the crew to and from different work areas within the mine.
- Help with setting up and rigging drilling equipment, such as jumbos.
- They perform a variety of general tasks as needed, making them the "jack of all trades" in the mining environment.
- Perform additional cleaning tasks as requested by the supervisor.

Required Skills or Experience
- A minimum of Senior High School Certificate or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a cleaner, or in a similar role is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe usage.
- Physical strength to perform cleaning tasks, including walking, lifting moderately heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to details and time management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Good time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
- Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving and operating licenses and able to drive manual vehicle
- Must have a valid community validation form
