The Mining Department of Abosso Goldfields Limited – Damang Mine is seeking to employ an experienced and suitably qualified individual for the position of Production Supervisor. The incumbent will use his/her expertise to ensure the safe utilization of assigned equipment, resources, competencies and skills of mining contractors to meet daily planned production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Chair daily toolbox safety Meetings and report on the same
- Organise personnel and equipment safely and effectively to achieve daily targets.
- Visit all areas of responsibility and ensure that correct work procedures are followed
- Investigate all accidents/incidents and report on the same
- Maintain a culture of Continuous Improvement
- Ensure the achievement of qualitative and quantitative outputs through the efficient utilization of available resources
- Initiate cost-saving practices and productivity improvement of specially assigned projects
- Maintain a safe and environmentally friendly working environment

Key Requirements
- A minimum of a degree or diploma in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution
- Five years experience as a Supervisor on a Surface Mine (Open Pit Operations)
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills
- Medical fitness for the position and environment
- A hands-on approach and be willing to work long hours to obtain the required results
- Competent in the operation of at least three earth moving equipment including Excavator, Grader, Dozer or Haul Truck
- At least Mine Captain and Supervisory Skills Training Certificates
- Extensive knowledge in applicable Mining Regulations
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Drilling & Blasting activities will be an advantage
- A valid Ghanaian driver’s license
