Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd. (“AGGL”) is a joint venture between Galiano Gold Inc. and Gold Fields. The primary asset is the Multi-Pit Asanko Gold Mine complex, located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Galiano Gold Inc. are the managers and operators of the Asanko Gold Mine.
Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified electrical engineer to take up a role in our Processing Department as an Electrical Supervisor
JOB PURPOSE
To lead electrical technicians to ensure that electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance work are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with the highest safety standards, complying with OSHAS 18001 and environmental management (ISO 14001) as well as company policies and regulations;
- Generate, issue, and control daily job cards for work to be undertaken;
- Ensure that all electrical critical spares are maintained within specified limits;

- Ensure accurate documentation of all electrical maintenance works;
- Identify tasks and develop the appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) to cover those tasks;
- Ensure that procedures for safe execution of tasks are in place and adhered to (these include Task Instructions, Permits to Work, Task Risk Assessments, and Toolbox Talks);
- Ensure that electrical infrastructures and equipment are maintained in accordance with standards in order to meet expected reliability and ‘uptime’ Key Performance Indicators;
- Communicate routinely and effectively with the Unit Manager - Electrical and Instrumentation and other supervisors as required;
- Ensure regulatory compliance;
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Required Skills or Experience
Knowledge
- Must have a minimum of Degree/HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of practical electrical engineering experience in a mining or related environment, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory position;
- Must have MV switching experience and a strong skill set in working on MV motors;
- Must be experienced in Process heating systems including Kilns and Ovens.
- Must be computer literate with working knowledge in Microsoft Office suit.
- Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license and the ability to drive in rough terrain.

- Excellent knowledge and analysis of architectural and engineering design principles;
- Ability to apply knowledge of standards, methods, and procedures to work situations;
- Ability to meet tight deadlines;
- Must demonstrate good communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve optimum performance.
