The Blow Mould Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining blow molding machinery. This position will set up and operate the machinery to produce plastic drums, monitor and adjust the machine settings, and troubleshoot any problems that arise. The Blow Mould Operator must also ensure that the drums/parts produced meet the quality standards of the company. This position requires a strong understanding of the blow molding process and the ability to work with a wide variety of plastics.
Duties
- Must have a strong understanding of how the machine works.
- The Operator will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Drum Moulding Machine and allied equipment.
- Able to read the blueprints and follow instruction from Supervisor to ensure production of right product ensuring all quality standards are duly maintained.
- Checking equipment for malfunctions in the production process and making adjustments to fix any problem.
- Operating the machine that fills MOULDs with molten plastic, which is then cooled to create finished product.
- Monitoring the quality of the product being produced by checking its dimensions and shape against specification.
- Removing finished product from MOULDs and trimming any excess material from the edges.
- Inspecting products for defects or flaws in the surface texture.
- Preparing MOULDs for production by cleaning them with brushes or scrapers.
- Removing defective products from the production line and scrapping materials that cannot be recycled.
- Moving completed products to packaging stations where they are wrapped or labelled.
- Following safety procedures to protect themselves, other workers, and the environment from hazards.

Qualification Required & Experience
- HND Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 plus years of exposure and experience in moulding machine operation.
- Knowledge of plastic materials and safety regulations.
- Appreciable knowledge of injection moulding machines and auxiliaries.
- Computer literate, especially in MS Word and Excel.
