Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill a vacancy in the post of Chief Information Officer in the Parliamentary Service of Ghana.

Job Summary

The Chief Information Officer will be responsible for providing support services relating to research, data management, publishing, media relations and public engagement to the speakership, leadership and members of Parliament.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Chief Information Officer shall assist the Clerk to Parliament and Management of the Service through the Deputy Clerk responsible for information management services, by performing the following duties

  • Oversee and coordinate the quality control measures in the provision of services relating to research, data management, publishing, public engagement, media relations and related information support services to the speakership, leadership and members of parliament
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of strategic plans and policies for the division to align with corporate objectives of parliament
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of information management strategies and digital transformation initiatives
  • Ensure the integration of innovative technologies and practices to enhance the provision and accessibility of information services
  • Ensure the effective management, st orate and dissemination of information within Parliament
  • Promote best practices in information governance, data security and privacy in parliament
  • Serve as the primary liaison for information management services with internal and external stakeholders, including members of parliament, staff, government agencies and the public
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the clerk to parliament

Qualification Required & Experience

  • A good first Degree in information technology, data science, management information systems, computer science, publishing studies, mass communication or any relevant social science discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 12 years of relevant post-qualification experience plus a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at 6 years experience on a grade analogous to the post of a Director in a public service institution

OR

  • A good first degree and a master’s degree in information technology, data science, management information systems, computer science, publishing studies, mass communication or any relevant social science discipline with at least 6 years post masters degree qualification experience on a grade analogous to the post of a Director in a public service institution

Age Limit: An applicant should not be above fifty-five 55 years of age on the date of appointment to the post in the Parliamentary Service.
