Development Bank Ghana (DBG) is seeking to recruit a Chief Data Officer
Role Summary
- The Chief Data Officer is responsible for leading the data strategy of DBG, ensuring that it promotes wholesale banking.
- The primary responsibility of the role is to drive the data strategy forward, establish and execute the Data Governance Framework and lead the Governance Committee
- The role holder will report to the Vice President of Economics & Research, focusing on leveraging Data as a strategic asset and enhancing DBG’s operational effectiveness and market competitiveness
Qualification Required & Experience
- Minimum of 10 years experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing data functions within the banking, financial services sector or other relevant sector
- Minimum of a Master’s OR PhD in Engineering or a related field

- Relevant professional certification / professional associations in Ghana or abroad are an advantage. For example, Cloud, Data Science, or Data engineering-related certifications
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective data strategies
- Proficiency in data management technologies, analytics tools and cloud platforms for driving business insights
- Detailed knowledge of data governance, compliance and risk management
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of wholesale banking operations and regulatory requirements

- Ability to build and lead high-performing teams, fostering innovation and continuous improvement
- Excellent leadership and communication skills (written and oral)
- Understanding of wholesale/development banking operations, financial products and regulatory requirements
- Understanding of organizational goals and strong interpersonal skills
