A company driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods, materials, and/or passengers to and from designated locations. This role requires adherence to traffic laws, company policies, and a strong focus on safety.
Responsibilities:
- Operate company vehicles in a safe and defensive manner.
- Adhere to traffic rules and regulations.
- Ensure the safety of passengers, cargo, and the vehicle.
- Perform routine checks on company vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Familiarize oneself with delivery locations and schedules.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods or materials as needed.
- Ensure proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of driving activities, including logbooks, fuel records, and delivery documentation.
- Comply with any paperwork required for the transportation of goods.
- Provide excellent customer service, especially when dealing with passengers or clients.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Previous experience as a company driver may be required.
- Strong commitment to safety and knowledge of safe driving practices.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (if required for loading/unloading).
- Good communication skills to interact with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to read maps and use navigation systems.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules.
